My latest book, Of Moose and Men, has gone into its second printing three months after rolling off the press, my publisher, Harvest House, recently reported.
I co-wrote Of Moose and Men with Torry Martin, a big red-headed ex-hippie from Tennessee, and one of the most colorful people you’ll ever meet. Who else but Torry would invite a reindeer into his kitchen, only to have it go completely berserk? Who else would let a moose get its antlers stuck in his window? And who else would wake up frozen to the cabin floor, trapped in his sleeping bag?
Torry, a comedian, actor, and writer, fled from California to the wilderness of Alaska, searching for answers to life’s biggest questions. He found what he was looking for…and so much more.
Like the Israelites of old, Torry experienced plenty of miracles and mishaps in the wilderness. And like them, he came face-to-face with God and was changed forever.
Of Moose and Men tells the zany but true stories of Torry’s blunders and misfortunes, but one theme prevails. If God can reclaim and repurpose Torry Martin’s life, He can do the same with you.
